The first few weeks with a new baby are a blur. You're figuring out feeding, sleeping whenever you can, adjusting to a completely different routine—and somewhere in the middle of all of that, you're trying to remember just how tiny your baby is right now.

That's one of the reasons I keep newborn sessions as simple as possible for parents.

My newborn studio is located in Ridley Park, just a short drive from many Main Line communities. The studio is stocked with the wraps, blankets, props and little details we need for your session, so there isn't a long list of things you need to pack or prepare.

You really can just bring the baby.

When should newborn photos be taken?

I typically photograph newborns when they are around 14–20 days old. At this age, babies are still incredibly tiny and usually settle beautifully into the wrapped and posed images you see throughout my newborn portfolio.

That doesn't mean you need to know exactly when your baby will arrive when you book.

I reserve your session using your due date as a placeholder. Once your baby is here, we'll choose the actual session date.

What happens during a newborn session?

Newborn sessions take place weekday mornings in my Ridley Park studio.

They're intentionally slower paced than my other sessions. There is time for feeding, changing, soothing and settling your baby throughout the session. Babies aren't expected to sleep on command, and there is no need to worry if we need to stop for a bottle or take a little extra time getting comfortable.

Before your session, you'll also receive a questionnaire that helps me plan everything ahead of time.

I want the studio to feel calm when you walk through the door—not like another thing you need to manage.

You don't need to bring a Pinterest board

After photographing newborns for more than a decade, one thing I've learned is that simple photographs are usually the ones parents love the longest.

Of course, I'll learn what colors and styles you gravitate toward before your session, but you don't need to arrive with a list of poses or recreate someone else's newborn photos.

Your baby's little features, expressions and personality are enough.

Those are the things we're really documenting.

A newborn studio close to the Main Line

I photograph families from throughout Delaware County, Philadelphia and the Main Line, including Newtown Square, Wayne, Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Havertown and surrounding areas.

For parents who don't want to travel into Philadelphia with a brand-new baby, my Ridley Park studio offers a comfortable alternative that's easy to get to and designed specifically for newborn sessions.

Everything is already here waiting for you.

And when you're only a couple of weeks postpartum and getting out of the house with a newborn feels like an accomplishment in itself, I think that matters.

Planning newborn photos?

If you're expecting a baby and considering newborn photography, you don't need to wait until your baby arrives to reach out. Most families reserve their session during pregnancy, and we'll finalize the date once your little one is here.

Your baby will only be this little once. My job is to make documenting it the easy part.
