A Tuesday Morning at the Sea Isle City Farmers Market
If you’re in Sea Isle City, NJ during the summer, one of my favorite things to do is head to the Sea Isle City Farmers Market on Tuesday mornings. It has become part of our summer routine, and honestly, I rarely miss a Tuesday.
I spend most of my summer in Sea Isle City with my family, and Tuesdays usually start at the farmers market before I head back later that evening for my Sea Isle City beach photography sessions. It’s one of those little routines that makes summer at the shore feel like summer to me.
What I Always Grab at the Sea Isle City Farmers Market
First up is usually fresh Jersey corn because there really is nothing better in the summer. Then we make our way around for all of our other favorites.
Donuts from Maryanne’s are pretty much a must. I also have to get the key lime pie, fresh guacamole and empanadas. I go into the market thinking I'm just grabbing a few things and somehow leave with my hands completely full every single week.
But the food is only part of why we love going.
There are so many local makers throughout the market, and my kids love walking around to see what everyone has. We've brought home cake pops, homegrown honey, hand-painted crafts and plenty of other little finds.
And then there’s the "Crayola lady." 😂
My kids know exactly where she is and what they want. She always has the cutest toys and little things for them to pick out, so naturally we can't leave without stopping.
And Obviously, I Need Coffee
Before I head out, I have to make one more stop for a ShoreBreak iced coffee. The new coffee cans are so cute!
Farmers market bags in one hand, iced coffee in the other, kids carrying whatever treasures they convinced me to buy that week, that's basically a typical Tuesday morning for us in Sea Isle.
It's nothing fancy, but it's one of my favorite parts of spending our summers here.
Summer Evenings Photographing Families in Sea Isle City
Later that day, I usually trade the farmers market bags for my camera and head back out for a family beach session in Sea Isle City.
Summer evenings here are my favorite. We meet on the beach shortly before sunset when the light starts getting softer and everything has that warm, golden look. After spending so many summers in Sea Isle, I've gotten to know the beaches, the light and some of my favorite little spots to photograph families.
A lot of the families I photograph are here for their annual Sea Isle vacation. Some have been coming down for generations, and others are spending their first summer here. That's one of the things I love most about photographing families at the Jersey Shore. The pictures aren't just family photos — they become part of the memories from a place your kids will associate with summer for years.
One of My Favorite Sea Isle City Summer Traditions
If you're visiting Sea Isle City this summer, definitely save a Tuesday morning for the farmers market. Go hungry, grab some fresh Jersey produce, let the kids pick something out, support a few local makers and don't forget the iced coffee.
And if you're already planning your Sea Isle City vacation, it's also a great time to think about updating your family photos while everyone is together.
I photograph sunset family beach sessions in Sea Isle City throughout the summer, and my schedule tends to fill as vacation weeks get closer.
If you'd like family photos to be part of your Sea Isle summer, you can check my beach session availability and reserve your evening while you're planning the rest of your trip.
