If this isn't your first baby, I absolutely think there is something special about including your older children in your newborn photos.
Because you're not only welcoming a new baby.
Your whole family just changed.
And siblings don't need to behave perfectly.
This is especially important if you have a toddler.
I don't expect your two-year-old to sit perfectly beside the baby and smile at me on command. 😂
We'll work around them.
Sometimes that means snuggling with Mom and the baby. Sometimes it's lying beside their new sibling. Sometimes we have about thirty seconds before they're completely over me.
That's okay.
As a mom of six, I've had plenty of experience with kids who have absolutely no interest in my plans.
Those sibling photographs often end up being some of the images parents treasure most because you're documenting the very beginning of their relationship.
Years from now, they'll be able to look back and see just how tiny their baby brother or sister once was.
